Why do I need a surveyor to help with a compulsory purchase?

As RICS professionals, our role can be either to advise and act for organisations that exercise compulsory purchase powers, or for the individuals or businesses that are subject to a compulsory purchase order (CPO).

There is a formal process required to demonstrate the need for the property to be acquired by the acquiring authorities and while the affected parties are given the opportunity to object or voice concerns, it can be difficult to navigate alone. Our role as experienced professionals is to provide advice to and negotiate on behalf of the affected parties to minimise disruption and ensure that they receive a fair level of compensation.
